Charlotte was born July 25, 1941 in McLaughlin, SD to Mabel (Rustad) and Clifford Peterson.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters Jacqueline (Butch Benson) Arett, Rebecca (Dale) Walker, Deborah (Ted Karle) Arett, Christine (Ryan) Giddings, Jennifer Arett (John) Albrecht, and Danielle (Joshua Dick) Arett. She was preceded in death by her husbands Daniel Arett and Duane Ladwig.
