Robert James Dillon born January 11, 1931 to Elton and Susie Dillon in Pelican Rapids.  Bob was raised on a farm near Pelican and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School.  Bob, along with his family, ran Dillon’s Electric and they sold Amana Appliances, Larson Boats, and Evenrude products and were the first Polaris dealership in Otter Tail County.  

He was a volunteer member of Pelican Rapids Fire Department, Jaycee Member, and sang in the church choir. Later he was a founding member and former fire chief of Andover Fire Department. 

Bob loved building and fixing machines. He enjoyed traveling especially to view historic trains and engines.  As a master electrition, Bob belonged to IBEW for more than 45 years.  He was know for being the problem solver-frequently tasked with creating solutions for difficult and unusal issues.  As an excellent trouble shooter, he frequently assisted family and friends wtih a vast array of home repair and replacement concers.  Spending time with family and friends was precious to him.

Robert James Dillon, age 88, of Anoka passed away March 23, 2019.  He is preceeded in death by parents Elton and Susie, brothers Dick, Don, and Mack Dillon.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Dorinne, children James (Lynnette) Dillon, Carol (Lary) Dillon, Kathryn (Scott) Dillon, Nancy (Tom) Soberg, Thomas (Mary Jo) Dillon, stepdaughters Debra (Daniel) Stock, Wend (James) Jackson, Cindy (Dan) Pflepsen, 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The funeral was April 1st at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home and interment was at Forst Hills Cemetery in Anoka, MN.
