Mary Lou went to her home in heaven on September 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Birdeen.

Mary Lou was born on September 12, 1933, in the Erickson family farmhouse near Pelican Rapids, MN. She had many fond memories of growing up on the farm with her loving parents, Elmer and Minnie, and her adored big brother, Earl.

She married Birdeen Nelson on November 6, 1954, and they made their home in Minneapolis. Mary Lou was the loving and devoted mother to Terrie, Larry, and Lori. She was always a hard-working employee throughout her life, retiring from her last position of 22 years as an executive secretary at Sears Roebuck. She liked to cook and bake and especially enjoyed Scandinavian food. Mary Lou and Birdeen always loved a “good” piece of lutefisk. Mary Lou was very skillfull at sewing and crocheting and made many clothes and afghans for family, friends, and dolls.

She was so proud of her sons-in-law, Jim Clark and Rodney McCroskey and her 6 grandchildren: Samuel Clark, James (Faith) Clark, Angela McCroskey, David (Kara) McCroskey, Kimberly (Stephen) Fletcher, and Joshua McCroskey. In recent years, she was totally amazed to become a great grandmother to Macey Marie, Ivy Blessing, and Emery Jayne.

Mary Lou is remembered by all of her family and friends as a very gentle, kind, and loving soul.

Funeral Services were held. Interment Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to Cerenity Senior Care of St. Paul.
