It is with great sadness that the family of Loretta (Senn) Welch announces her passing on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the age of 85 in San Jose, CA.  Loretta fought a brave battle with Alzheimer’s, but now rests with the angels.

Loretta was born in Pelican Rapids, MN on April 19, 1936, the fourth of Clifford and Elfrieda Senn’s seven children.  In 1954 she graduated from Pelican Rapids High School.  She attended Moorhead State where she met her husband of 63 years, Ron Welch.  They were married on December 21, 1957.

Loretta and Ron lived in San Jose, CA and raised their two daughters Sheri Lynn and Karen Ann.  Loretta was an elementary school teacher for 12 years.  She loved ballroom and square dancing, going to the theater, traveling, working crossword puzzles, doing fancy work and collecting “frogs”.  She was happiest when she spent time with her family.

Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ron Welch; her daughters Sheri (Hank) Winkenwerder and Karen (Ken) DeHart; her grandchildren Seth Winkenwerder, David Winkenwerder and Kameron DeHart.  She leaves behind her beloved sister Isabelle (Willis) Mavis, brother and sister in law Paul & Kates Senn, brother-in-law Elroy (Rosetta) Hexum and brother-in-law Alwin (Joann) Spencer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rosetta (Elroy) Hexum, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Jerry Sheldon, sister Joanne (Alwin) Spencer, brother-in- law Willis (Isabelle) Mavis and brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Ila Senn.
