Outdoor movie night Aug. 12

The “drive-in theater” tradition is being revived in the Lake Lida area, with a special “Outdoor Movie Night” on August 12.

A special, inflatable big screen will take shape on the Lida Township Hall grounds, and the movie “Boss Baby” will be projected on the screen. Show time is at about 9 p.m.; and free popcorn will be served beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The event is being promoted as a recreational activity by the Lake Lida Property Owners Association.

Spectators are recommended to bring their own lawn chair, beverages and bug spray. The lake association will spray for mosquitoes, but chances are that some of the bugs will still survive.

In the event of inclement weather, the movie night will be re-scheduled.

Lida Town Hall is at the intersection of 230th Ave. and Highway 108, east of Pelican Rapids.
