Argentine muralist Gurí paints a mural on the south side of Rebel Shed during the downtown art studio’s grand opening last July, blending Latin American artistic traditions with local Native American history. The piece depicts the “Minnesota Woman,” the 8,000-year-old remains discovered near Pelican Rapids in 1931, and was created in collaboration with filmmaker Génesis G. Taveras and Rebel Shed founder Trisha Rutten. It was Gurí’s first U.S. mainland mural.
