Speaking to Minnesota journalists Thursday, Governor Tim Walz defended the adversarial relationship between press and government, telling the audience that elected officials “damn sure better defend your right to beat them up every single day because that’s where the truth comes out.” The governor addressed immigration enforcement and government transparency despite arriving fresh from the dentist’s chair.
