Two possible routes for the proposed Maple River–Cyuna 345 kV transmission line are being considered by power company officials. The northern route would run from the Maple River Substation near Fargo, North Dakota, parallel to Highway 10, to the Cuyuna Substation in the Brainerd area. The southern route would pass through the lakes region near Pelican Rapids, including areas around Pelican Lake, Tamarac, Franklin, and portions of Scambler and Dunn Townships.
