New ‘rock rapids’ added near Vet’s Park, improving Pelican River habitat

A “mini” rock arch rapids was created downstream from the larger dam removal and river restoration project by Pelican Pete. Contractor Minnesota Native Landscapes, Otsego, performed the excavation and rock-boulder work for the DNR—creating deeper pools and better conditions for aquatic habitat.
