Bonita Marie Lyden, beloved mother and cherished friend, passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on June 14, 1937, to Eddie and Ruth (Johnson) Ruud in Pelican Rapids.

Bonita brought light and joy to the lives of those around her. With heavy hearts, we reflect on the beautiful life she lived and the memorable impact she had on her loved ones.

Bonita, affectionately known as Bonnie, graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1955 and continued her education at Moorhead State. On October 26, 1957, she exchanged vows with husband, John Lyden, at Central Lutheran Church.

Together, they owned and operated a dairy and crop farm on the Lvden homestead. which has been in the familv since 1883, until their retirement in 1991. Bonnie and John shared countless cherished moments together throughout their 59 years of marriage.

Their home on the farm was a place of warmth and hospitality, where countless memories were made with their family and friends. Bonnie was an active member of Central Lutheran Church throughout her lifetime.

Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she contributed to the church community as a valued member of the church circle. She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Bonnie enjoyed cooking and baking- with many of her recipes being reprinted in various community and church cookbooks. Her kitchen was always a place of warmth and a hot cup of coffee for family and friends.

Additionally, she found solace and happiness in the great outdoors, whether at her cabin or that of a relative on Lake Lida: or embarking on scenic drives to revel in the natural beautv that surrounds us in Ottertail County. Bonnie's legacy lives on through her sisters, Lois Schweer and Susan (Brad) Erickson, whom Bonnie talked with by phone daily; her children, Wendy (Pat) Dolezal and Glenn (Deb Shirley) Lyden who were her pride and joy; her two adored granddaughters, Chelsea (Andrew) Cullen and Ashley (Brett) Theisen.

Her love for her granddaughters was immeasurable. and she was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother, loving known as "Grandma GG" to Avery and Cora.

Bonnie also will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, each of whom were touched by her warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit. Preceding Bonnie in eternal rest were her husband, John; her parents, Eddie and Ruth; her brother, Darrel; sister-in-law, Gloria Ruud and brother-in-law, Floyd Schweer.

A memorial service celebrating Bonnie's life will be held in the spring on a date yet to be determined at Central Lutheran Church. If you wish to honor Bonnie's memory, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Central Lutheran Church.

Though our hearts ache with the loss of Bonnie, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. Her generous spirit will forever reside in our hearts, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
