Georgie-Ann Albright
June 26, 2025

Georgie-Ann (Virginia Beverly Thompson) Albright, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home with family by her side on Sunday, June 15, 2025,
Pelican Rapids. Georgie-Ann was known all her life as Annie to her family. Georgie-Ann was the third child of Charley and Tillie Thompson. She was born at home on February 22, 1931, in Rothsay, MN. The following year the family moved into Pelican Rapids where her dad started the Thompson Garage on Mill Ave repairing cars. The family lived in the apartment above the garage. She was baptized and confirmed at the old Ringsaker Church. She graduated in May 1950 in Pelican Rapids and married the love of her life, Bill Albright Jr. on June 9th, 1950.
She loved Trinity Lutheran Church and served anywhere they asked her to. She held every office of the church except President (she didn't want to do that). However, the position she enjoyed most was when she was Superintendent over the children. She gathered and led all the kids in singing Sunday School songs before they were released to their teachers. She loved singing in the Trinity Lutheran Church choir and was sad when she wasn't able to do that anymore.
Georgie-Ann loved to sing. Her mother noticed she had a singing talent and encouraged her whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was a very popular soloist - for school functions, church services, senior teas, the dedication ceremony of Trinity, and once for a visiting governor. Yet for each invitation she was always humbled that she was even asked. Her singing teacher wanted her to pursue a professional singing career, enticing her with the thought of her name in the paper. She replied that the only time she wanted her name in the paper was for the birth announcements of her children. She and sisters Dolly Amundson and lola Erickson formed a trio called The Chapel Trio. They sang at numerous churches and nursing homes for many years. It was her joy.
She loved to sew. She sewed most of her clothing and for every school year she would sew her daughters coordinated outfits. She also enjoyed Hardanger, quilting, ceramics, and anything creative.
Those left behind to cherish Georgie-Ann's/Annie's memories are her son, Donovan Albright (Rosemary) and family of Ukiah, CA; daughter, Kathryn Albright of Chisago City, MN; daughter, Jeri Kennelly (Michael) of Dilworth, MN; and son, Paul Albright of Akeley, MN; granddaughter, Shamayne Berg of Moorhead, MN: granddaughter, Heidi (Bryan) Severinson of Thompson, ND; granddaughter, Annie (Chewy) Albright of St. Paul Park, MN; granddaughter, Ellen Albright of Fergus Falls, MN; great granddaughter, Madilyn Smith of Moorhead MN; great grandson, Abram Gerlach of Moorhead, MN; her sister, Florance Thompson of Fergus Falls, MN, and a brother, Charley/Tom (Elaine) Thompson of Walnut Creek, CA• a sister-in law Arline (Tuel) Thomnson of St Charles MN; a brother-in-law, Roger Thompson of Underwood, MN; numerous nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.
