The Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band, pictured at an outdoor concert from a previous year, will be making its annual trip to Pelican Rapids for two concerts on April 24. The concerts have been a highlight for veterans, families, and spectators of all agesโ€”for many years. The all-volunteer band features numerous members from the Pelican area and many lakes area connections. The first concert will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Pelican Rapids High School. The second concert will be at the Pelican Rapids VFW Club from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The late Terry Sjostrom, former owner of Birchwood Golf Course, is the subject of the fourth annual benefit golf tournament in his honor. Proceeds from this yearโ€™s benefit will be donated to the Veterans Honor4 Flight program, which has served hundreds of veterans, including many in the greater Pelican Rapids area.
