Veterans presented colors at the special military night in Pelican Rapids on Feb. 4. prior to the Pelican-Perham boys basketball game. Pelican VFW and American Legion veterans from left, Rodney Zentz, Bryon Nelson, and Mike Nettestad, were joined by region Army recruiter Sgt. Hunter Williams, far right. The success of the 2024 event prompted a second annual military night, Feb. 4, when the Pelican boys host Perham at the Leaders gym.

Lori Kubitz relocated to Pelican Rapids with her husband Jeff Kubitz, a Pelican native, and has been serving as Pelican cityโ€™s accounting clerk since Nov. 2023.
