Sylvester Trosvik

Sylvester L. Trosvik, 87, of Rothsay, died Saturday, January 6, 2024 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Svlvester LeVere Trosvik was born January 20, 1936 to Lars and Mathilda (Arneklev) Trosvik in Trondhjem Township, Ottertail County, MN.

He attended and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. After high school, he attended NDSU for Agriculture, graduating in 1956. He was a member of the United States Army, serving approximately two years from October 1958 to July 1960. Sylvester earned the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Gunner (Rocket Launcher), and Marksman Badge (Rifle).

He was the business owner of the very successful corporation, Trosvik Inc. in Rothsay, MN.

He spent his life working the fields and raising turkeys. On June 25, 1965, Sylvester married Jovce Grunewald at South Immanuel Church in rural Rothsay, MN, where he remained a member.

He was a member of the Rothsay TC's, VFW, American Legion, and Sons of Norway. Sylvester's favorite things to do were taking a drive every Sunday with his wife and check out the fields, looking at equipment, hunting, and ice fishing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Arthur, Melvin, and Orville; sisters, Leola (Eddie) Velo, Margaret (Don) Scheer, Florence (Oliver) Haugrud, Gladys (Lloyd) Ouse, Rose (Gerald) Hanson, and infant sister, Adeline; brothers-in-law, David Grunewald and Dale Grunewald, and sister-in-law, Avis (Byron) Lemke. Sylvester is survived by his wife, Joyce Trosvik; his children, Tammy Trosvik, Tanya (James) Mitchell of Hobe Sound, FL, Trina Bradley of Port St.

Lucie, FL, and Tyson (Jenna) Trosvik of Rothsay; brother, Earl (Jane) Trosvik of Pelican Rapids; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sheila) Grunewald; eight grandchildren, Justin (Brittney), Joshua (Amber), Ryan, Adam, Andrew, Kyle, Adeline, and Riley; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Addison, and Greyson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Service: 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 13, 2024 at South Immanuel Church, rural Rothsay, MN, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church. Clergy: Reverend Phil Tobin Interment: South Immanuel Cemetery, rural Rothsay, MN Arrangements provided by Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
