Denise and Brian Laymon have been part of the Lighted Horse Parade for eight years. “It’s a fantastic event,” said Denise, pictured here with Ace and Manny, and husband, Brian, driving the team in last year’s Lighted Horse Parade. “We look forward to it and love to see the great turnout.” The Laymon’s own Farm 41 by Vergas, MN, and have three Haflinger teams they use at events and on wagon rides.

People familiar with horses know they are naturally vigilant and can quickly notice new sights and sounds. Horses notice even small changes in areas they have ridden before, and repeat teams to this year’s parade will notice the changes downtown. Horses can see nearly 360 degrees but can’t see directly in front of them. Be parade safe by respecting the barriers and keeping a safe distance.
