Carter Satter
Carter James Satter, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2024 in Sitka, Alaska. Born on January 9, 2000, Carter was known for his kind heart, hard work, and joyful spirit. His infectious laugh, considerate nature and sense of humor made him a beloved figure among all who knew him.
Carter grew up attending Hassan Elementary and Rogers High School where he was an active participant on the football, baseball, and basketball teams. Hе continued his education at Anoka Technical College, earning an Electrician's Certificate in 2020. Carter's career took him to Sitka, where he was diligently working alongside his mentor and Uncle Shawn, toward becoming a Journeyman at Sitka Electric.
Beyond his professional life, Carter enjoyed hunting and cherished time spent playing cards and board games with his family and friends, often showing his competitive nature. He also enjoyed reading and listening to books, watching movies, cooking, watching and sharing everything "iFunny" to family and friends. While in Alaska, Carter always made sure to take time to call and maintain his special relationship with his grandparents and also with his parents and other family members and friends.
Carter is survived by his loving parents, Dan and Jenny Satter; his brother Caden Satter; grandparents Christine and DeForest Malstrom, and David and Ruby Gillaspey; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins including Wade (Cody, Tori) Gillaspey, Jody and Dave (Gloria, Elijah) Reynolds, Shawn and Shelley (Jessica Lynn, Jessica Marie, Krysta, Lillian) Gillaspey, Tess (Sam) Satter, Cady and Rob (Jacob, Annie, Alex) Metcalfe, and Andrew and Becca (Neelah, Ashton) Satter, Dave and Nancy (Asher, Emma, Molly) Rooks, and very special friends John and Wendy Filipczak (Joey); JT and Cailin (Theo, Nora) Filicpzak, and Tommy Anderson; and many special great aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparent, James Satter; great-grandparents Douglas and Harriet Haugen, Victor Sr. and Laverne Satter, Oscar Peasley, Norma and Clarence Helgeson, and Donald and Evelyn Gillaspey.
Carter will be remembered for his generous spirit, his dedication to his family and friends, and his unwavering ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His legacy of kindness and genuine spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, November 3, 2024 beginning with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following at the 21st Century Bank Event Center, 12716 Main Street, Rogers, MN.
