Norris Haglund, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Pelican Valley Senior Living Center and under the tender care of hospice, in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Larson Funeral and Cremation Service in Pelican Rapids, MN with Allen Westby S.A.M. officiating. A time of visiting will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Norris LeRoy Haglund was born on August 10, 1947 to Ole and Elvera (Tripp) Hanson in rural Dalton, MN. Norris' parents died when he was a very young age and at the age of 9, he was adopted by Melvin and Gladys Haglund. He grew up on the family farm in Scambler Township and attended the Scambler Church. Norris attended country school in Dalton for his beginning years, before moving to Pelican Rapids where he graduated in 1965.
Norris was married to Brenda Johnson and to this union two children were born, Mia and Christine. As the children grew up they enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and many other various outdoor activities. Throughout Norris' life his faith was important to him. They traveled around the area to see many traveling evangelists and help build habitat for humanity houses.
Norris worked at the Turkey plant in Pelican Rapids for over 30 years in several different departments. After retiring he continued his hobbies and added the grandchildren and great grandchildren into the mix. He loved his grandchildren and all of the time they spent together.
He is survived by two daughters: Mia (Jamie) Teberg of Pelican Rapids, MN, Christine (Dana) Moberg of Barnesville, MN, seven grandchildren: Stephan, Kirsten, Jessa, Duane, Denise, Brittany, and Reed, 14 great grandchildren, six siblings: Jewell (Mike) Hunter of CO, Richard Hanson of Fergus Falls, MN, Mazie (James) Wick of Pelican Rapids, MN, Virginia (Tony) Stumpf of Blaine, MN, Loren (Nancy) Haglund of Vergas, MN, William Larson of the Twin Cities, MN, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents and his adoptive parents, and three siblings: Delores Varholt, Dorothy Musselman, and Alan Larson.
