Boxes and boxes of dozens of books were donated to the Pelican Rapids schools, providing reading matter for years to come. The books were a lucky find for Harold Holt, an officer with the Pelican Rapids Otter Tail Mason Lodge. Boxes had been in sitting in storage with the Shriners and Masons in Detroit Lakes; never distributed. So Holt seized the opportunity and arranged to donate the books in Pelican. High school readers are pictured here, paging through the new books—but there are also several boxes for younger readers at the elementary school. 

Holt is pictured with faculty members Amy Korf and Karla Breen, who is advisor to the Honor Society. The local Mason Lodge also donated $250 to the Pelican chapter of the Honor Society.
