The Pelican Rapids ice skating rink is open.

Between winter storms, cold weather, warm weather, thawing temperatures, and other complications, the flooding of the ice rink was delayed.

But the city has hired a full slate of young people to work at the warming house, the last of which the city approved Jan. 10, Jeremy Ballard.

The new location of the Skating Rink/Warming House is on the East end of Chauncey Martin Parking Lot near Paul’s Sledding Hill

Warming house hours:

– School Days (weekdays)… 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

– Saturday & Sunday … 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

– No School Weekdays … 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The warming house will be closed any day the temperature is below –10 or –15 with wind chill or whenever the temperature is above 32 degrees.

Skates are available at the warming house.
