After more than three decades of constant traffic at the Pelican Rapids recycling center, the lot south of Larry’s Super Market is vacant and empty.

The recycling bins have been moved to the new Otter Tail County highway department facility on the northwest corner of town, near the city’s industrial park.

Officially, the address is 19248 430th St. The newly-built Otter Tail complex is west of County Highway 9.

Pictured after clean-up at the former Larry’s loction is Troy Haarstick, longtime county employee, who remembers when the recycling bins first came to the site—March of 1990.
