The beautiful pines east of the Pelican Rapids VFW Club will be officially lit for the holidays at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 26, just ahead of the 6:30 pm lighted horse parade. Decorating the tree here are staff from Lake Region Electric Cooperative.

Residents at the Pelican Valley Senior Living facilities will receive special holiday gifts this season.

Homemade, “no-sew” fleece lap Christmas blankets will be created for about 75 residents at the Pelican Valley facilities.

The blankets will be made at a series of “Christmas Craft Nights” at Brown Eyed Susans, Pelican Rapids.

The first session was Nov. 23, but two more are scheduled:

• Tuesday, November 30th from 6-8 p.m.

• Tuesday, December 7th from 6-8 p.m.

Hosting the craft nights are Jessica Shulstad and Lori Hanson, at Brown Eyed Susans.

“Our seniors are so special…we want to send them our love and wish them a warm and cozy holiday season,” said Shulstad.

Music, hot chocolate will set the atmosphere at the holiday-decorated store. To register, call 218-863-5200.

Those who would prefer to make the blankets on their own, instructions and information is available at Brown Eyed.

Santa and his elves will personally be delivering to Pelican Valley on December 11.
