Pelican upends Frazee 44-14

The Pelican Rapids Viking football team is off to the races, racking up a pair of victories by dominating scores. 

A hometown crowd got its first look at the “new” Vikings and coaching staff Sept. 10, as Pelican outscored Frazee 44-14 on a beautiful autumn evening. A large crowd was on hand to watch Carter Johnson score four touchdowns for the Vikes. 

Pelican Rapids racked up 430 yards of offense to win their home opener over the Frazee Hornets.

Quarterback Timmy Guler completed 9-of-10 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns. Guler ran the ball three times for 49 yards and a touchdown. 

Following a decisive opening game victory over Underwood 42-0, the Vikings improved their season record to 2-0.

Next up, Pelican travels to Red River Valley rival Barnesville Sept. 17. 

The Homecoming game is Sept. 24, as Pelican hosts Parkers Prairie.
