Season launches on soggy gridiron

The Pelican Rapids Vikings football team overpowered Underwood to open the 2021 football campaign. 

Viking quarterback Timmy Guler completed 9-of-15 passes for 150 yards in the 42-0 shutout on Sept. 2 at Underwood. 

The Vikings jumped out to a 34-0 lead at the half; and the Pelican defense held the Rockets to only three yards for the game. 

Next up for Pelican Rapids, the first home football game Friday night, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at Chauncey Martin Field against Frazee.
