From Otter Tail County

Public Health sponsored vaccine clinics the week of February 8th, 2021 are scheduled to administer doses to remaining healthcare personnel identified by MDH, and second doses to those in phase 1a who received their first doses of COVID-19 vaccine at public health clinics.  In addition, another supply of COVID-19 vaccine was allocated to Public Health and is to be used for schools and childcare programs across the county.  COVID-19 vaccine clinics for eligible populations continue to be done by invitation only.  Otter Tail County Public Health does not currently have COVID-19 vaccine for those who are 65+.

The Fergus Falls site will be open to administer second doses of COVID-19 vaccine only to those who have scheduled appointments. No new appointments will be scheduled at these sites. People who have questions about their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine should call 833-431-2053 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. General community vaccination questions can also be directed to this call center.

There continues to be a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine in Otter Tail County and throughout Minnesota, and clinics are being held as vaccine becomes available. Otter Tail County Public Health does not currently have a registration list for the public to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

I’m 65, where can I get my vaccine?

If you are 65 years of age or older you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Demand exceeds supply right now but as supply distribution ramps up so will our efforts to get you vaccinated. For more information, please visit and click on Find My Vaccine.

How long does it take for the vaccine to start working?

After the second dose, it takes about two weeks for your body to build up protection. Even after those two weeks, we know these vaccines are good at preventing people from getting sick, but we don’t have enough data yet to say whether someone who was vaccinated may still spread the disease to others if they get infected with COVID-19.
