The Granders will again be performing for the holidays at North Immanuel church, but the performance will be shared online.

N. Immanuel church concert tradition continues

The Christmas concert tradition at North Immanuel Lutheran Church will take a different form this year.

A “virtual,” remote form.

“Christmas Concert Event- Reinvented,” is the working title of the event, Wednesday, Dec, 2, 7 p.m.

“The Best of the Granders” will be a beautiful blend of vocal and acoustic Christmas music. The Granders have been a key ingredient in North Immanuel’s holiday tradition, but the pandemic is preventing a live concert with audience.

The concert will be broadcast on North Immanuel Facebook live, Dec 2, 7 p.m. for the Christmas Concert event.

The remote concert event, which in the past has included a holiday meal, is intended to continue the church’s support of the Otter Tail County “Shop With A Hero” program. North Immanuel has supported the program since 2015.

The public can help brighten a child’s Christmas by making a donation to North Immanuel, Shop With a Hero, PO BOX 431, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572

The Christmas Concert will be available to share or revisit following Dec 2 on the North Immanuel Facebook page and North Immanuel Web Site:

The Otter Tail County Shop with a Hero 2020 event will carry on despite the pandemic.

Fergus Falls Police and Fire Departments have received community grants to organize a 2020 Christmas shopping event. Due to Covid-19 this year, the program will look a little different than past events.

Organizers are working with the Angel Tree Program https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/walmart-angel-tree/ and will refer interested Otter Tail County families to the local Salvation Army chapter at (218) 739-9692.

The Salvation Army will assist all Otter Tail County families with new clothing and toys to children/ families in need this year.

Any funds raised during the North Immanuel holiday event, will go to this program. The officers and firemen will go shopping for the angel tree tags without children present this year. The Salvation Army will then give the items to the families.
