Lida Township Board member Dan Schell greeted voters Nov. 3.
He’s the newest member of the board, and already he’s worked both a primary and general election as a precinct judge.
Schell replaced 11-year board member, the late Al Schierman, who didn’t seek re-election in early 2020. A Pelican native and local graduate in the late 1950s, Schierman was widely admired. He died last summer.
“Al was just a great guy,” said Schell, who said he is honored to fill Schierman’s seat.
Memorials and donations in Schierman’s name funded a brand new township bulletin and notice board, which was locally made by Schell and Lyle Bring. (Look for details in next week’s Pelican Rapids Press, Nov. 12.)
