One person was injured in a motorcycle accident south of Clitherall, on Oct. 9, near the intersection of Highway 5 and 200th Street.
The driver layed down his bike in order to avoid colliding with a semi.
Injuries to the cycle driver included abrasions and an injured ankle during the accident at 9:03 a.m. The victim was later treated at the hospital in Perham.
Cycle driver sustains broken leg in mishap
A woman who had been driving a motorcycle suffered a broken leg after mechanical failure close to 6 p.m. on Oct. 9. The location was near the intersection of Highways 76 and 19, north of Bluffton in eastern Otter Tail County.
The victim was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena and later received additional treatment at the hospital in St. Cloud.
Cashier check scam reported in Vergas
A cashier check scam was reported in Vergas on Oct. 9.
These scams almost always involve someone giving you a genuine-looking check or money order. The scammers ask possible victims to either wire money to them or send them goods in return.
After a scam victim deposits or cashes the check or money order, or sends money, a person learns that the check that was sent is fraudulent.
Please remember that if the payee line is blank, the check is a fake.
Handgun, chainsaw stolen
Taken from a garage at Crystal Hill Drive, northeast of Pelican Rapids near Crystal Lake, were a handgun and chain saw.
Entry was made despite the garage door being locked. The incident was called into the sheriff’s office on Oct. 10.
