COVID-19 pandemic relief funds are also trickling down to the smallest of local governments: The Townships.
Scambler Township, just north of Pelican Rapids city, received nearly $12,000 in coronavirus-related relief, it was reported at the Oct. 8 town board meeting.
The revenue will likely go to some of the election-related expenses, including plexiglass shields for Scambler precinct workers.
Other expenses that could justifiably be considered COVID-related is new township computer hardware and printer.
Also, the township is considering using COVID funds to help underwrite the cost of the new Scambler Township website, on the basis that it is helping keep town residents informed through online availability.
The new website is scamblertownship.org.
