Mojo the dog, part of the Otter Tail County k-9 unit, led by County Sheriff Sergeant Zach Eifert, assisted state troopers in the city of Wadena on July 23.
Mojo sniffed out areas of drug paraphernalia in a vehicle. Also found was meth on the front passenger side seat. The investigation took place at 9:17 p.m. and drug charges were expected to take place.
Officers such as Eifert attend classes with their dogs in order to develop unique relationships and become trusted partners. Mojo and Eifert work not only in Otter Tail County but also assist law enforcement in neighboring counties.
Tools stolen from construction site
Tools were stolen from a construction site south of Henning near Highway 134.
Sheriff deputies said the theft took place between 4 p.m. on July 22 and 8 a.m. on July 23. An investigation was continuing as of July 24.
Another theft was reported south of Fergus Falls, on July 23. Taken from a shed were an air compressor and chainsaw.
Criminal damage to property near Vergas
Sheriff deputies tracked down a suspect who allegedly snipped a lock on a horse trailer west of Vergas, on July 23.
The individual said he needed to enter the trailer and retrieve a welder, which he said belonged to him. Deputies said this was the wrong thing to do, and he should have tried to contact the owner of the trailer.
An investigation and looking into possible charges were continuing as of July 24.
