Treasure trove of souvenir items, images from Pelican area history collector Tom Albright
Collecting Pelican Rapids lakes area souvenirs, images, post cards and other memorabilia are a hobby and passion for Tom Albright.
Pictured above, an array of various items Albright brought into the Pelican Rapids Press office last summer.
Note the 1952 Minn. State Fair Farmers pocket ledger.
Also pictured, various pencils and pocket knives, which were customer appreciation gifts over the years. Among the businesses represented: Restad Coffee Shop, Farmers Elevator, Pelican Rapids Co-op, Park Region Co-op and Park Region Hatchery, S.M. Moen “Famous for its Sturdy Chicks.”
Albright has been a regular contributor to the Pelican Rapids Press. He is pictured at right, with special, custom made booklets of greater Pelican lakes area photos and postcards–which he gave to the Press as a gift!
We will be publishing various images from the Albright collection in the coming months–and even years, since he has such a large inventory of historic images and items.
Thanks to Tom Albright for his contributions to the Press…and keep on reading your hometown newspaper. You never know what might appear in our pages, courtesy the Albright collection!
