It was a productive couple of hours for the Pelican Rapids Area Youth (PRAY) group June 5, as about 20 youth and adult volunteers worked at several locations around Pelican Rapids–from the municipal swimming pool to the community gardens.

The city swimming pool was painted, in anticipation of the opening soon. In addition, they cleared brush and trimmed at the Pelican Community Gardens; sorted books at the Pelican Rapids Public Library; assisted elderly residents with yard work, and a range of other projects. The evening was followed by a pizza party.

PRAY, organizes activities and events for area interdenominational youth so as to create Christ-centered and positive peer-based experiences. Youth from nearly all of the Pelican area churches participate in PRAY events and activities.

Assisting with the PRAY “Volunteer Day” were a number of adult violunteers, including Jeff McCracken, Al Westby, Wayne Woolever, Daisha Johnson, Dave Dewey, Gary Haugrud and Ruth Holmgren.
