“I’ve always enjoyed working with the elderly,” said Ahlf, who is the new executive director of Pelican Valley Senior Living.

He was formally introduced to visitors, staff and residents at the dedication June 9 of the newly renovated memory care complex. He follows in the footsteps of his mother, who was also a health care administrator in Menahga.

Ahlf began his career in Thief River Falls, where he managed a small skilled nursing facility for 3 ½ years. He moved back to the Fargo/Moorhead area for a position as multi-site Executive Director for Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities.

Ahlf was born and raised in Menahga, where he grew up with 4 siblings on a hobby farm.
