The Pelican Rapids High School Choir Concert is May 20, 7 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium.
The spring performances are among the most popular of the year, because the program features an array of popular music, and numerous students sing solos, noted choir director Lori Paakh.
“Students have a chance to be a pop ‘star’ on our beautiful stage with a spotlight on them and they get to use a microphone,” added Paakh.
Pelican music educators have been helping promote the Fine Arts Auditorium committee, which is in the midst of an ambitious fundraising campaign. Acoustic and audio features, which were trimmed from the original construction project, will enhance one of the area’s newest and finest performance venues. The committee has created a contribution wall in the auditorium lobby, which displays contributors to the campaign–which is also aiming for the purchase of a grand piano for the auditorium.
In August, the Fine Arts Committee will be presenting a concert by a national touring act, “The Everly Brothers Experience.”
