Pelican young artists bring home excellent, superior honors

The Pelican Rapids High School Art program recently participated in the regional Minnesota State High School Event in New York Mills.

Thirteen area high schools displayed their finest art in categories such as drawing, painting, sculpture, 2D mixed media, crafts, ceramics, digital photography, video arts, and printmaking.

Judges scored each piece based on composition, craftsmanship, process/problem solving and expressive qualities.

Students spent a day in NYM to view the exhibit, listen to guest artist experiences, participate in hands on activities, enjoy lunch, and receive awards.
