The driver of a pickup truck from Verndale, southeast of Wadena, was injured late Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, when his pickup collided with a semi east of Bluffton in eastern Otter Tail County.

The State Patrol told sheriff deputies that the pickup went through a stop sign and then slammed into the semi. The accident took place at 11:36 a.m. near the intersection of Highways 10 and 75.

The injured individual who was driving a 1997 Ford pickup was Clayton Walker Rice, 38, of Verndale. He was taken to Tri County Hospital in Wadena. Rice was wearing a seatbelt when the accident took place.

Driving a 2000 Kenworth semi was Terry Lee Ballard, 59, of Lake Park, northwest of Detroit Lakes. He was not injured in the accident.
