Perham’s Jenson Beachy led all scorers with 25 points as the Yellowjackets beat Pelican Rapids 86-37 in a Heart O’ Lakes conference game at Perham on Friday, February 24.

Perham led at the half 40-17 and pulled away in the second half for the easy win.

The loss drops the Vikings to 7-18 overall on the season and 3-8 in HOL play.

Perham also got 14 points from Martin Lafond and 10 points from Logan Richter. Pelican Rapids was led by Oakley Kress’ 13 points and McHale Korf added 8. The Yellowjackets made 17 three pointers in the game as they shot the ball extremely well.

“Our defense was not where it needed to be tonight as Perham was able to do whatever they wanted to offensively,” head coach John Gullingsrud stated. “We were able to hang around for the first few minutes, but once they started knocking down outside shots, we were unable to keep the game close.”

The final game of the regular season for the Vikings will be on Tuesday, February 28 as they travel to Hawley.
