Minnesota Junior High School Mathematics League held its second meet of the season on November 4.
Individually, Julian Gunderson, Greta Tollefson, and Sophie Hovden tied for sixth place in the West Central region. Right behind them were Ella Backstrom, Lily Holl, and Marlee Smith, who tied for 13th place. Also scoring in the top 20 individuals were Weston Funk, Rachel Guler, McHale Korf, Dillon Nord, and Isaac Olson.
Just one question behind them were Logan Fahje, Allison Haiby, Emily Martinez, Mia Stewart, Justin VerDorn, Anthony Reese, and Tanner Tollerud.
In team competition, the Pelican Rapids Vikings team slipped to third place at this meet behind Alexandria and St. Cloud Christian. Team members were eighth graders Julian Gunderson, Greta Tollefson, Weston Funk, and McHale Korf, and seventh graders Sophie Hovden and Ella Backstrom.
Cumulative results for the West Central region after two meets show the Pelican Rapids Vikings team in second place, just 5 points behind Alexandria. The Pelican Rapids Orange team is in sixth place.
Individually Greta Tollefson is tied for 4th place, Julian Gunderson, Ella Backstrom, and Sophie Hovden are tied for 7th place, and Weston Funk and Lily Holl are tied for 18th place. McHale Korf, Janae LaFerriere, Rachel Guler, Anthony Reese, and Tanner Tollerud are also in the top thirty individuals in the region.
