Junior high runners place three in top ten finishers

The Viking cross country team participated in the Perham Invitational cross country meet October 6.

Tatianna Wiley led the way for the junior high girls with her 1st place finish. She ran the 3000 meter

course in 12:23. Lily Williams (7th) and Rachel Guler (9th) posted times of 13:08 and 13:22. Anna Stachowski (39th) finished with a time of 14:54.

The varsity girls ran well against tough competition. Chloe Paulson (15th) was the first Viking to cross the finish line in a season best time of 20:15. Tianna Wald (20th) and Mandi Sjolie (25th) also recorded season best times of 20:27 and 20:32. Maddie Guler (36th) and Autumn Gummeringer (72nd) ran times of 20:57 and 22:58. Emma Hoover (116th) ran the 5000 meter course in 27:10.

The team finished in 5th place.

Evan Fankhnnel and Sam Moe ran well in a large field of 143 junior high boy runners. Fankhnnel’s time of 12:22 was good for a 51st place finish. Moe’s time of 13:33 gave him a 91st place finish.

In the varsity boy’s competition, David Johnston (61st) finished with a time of 18:09. Logan Petznick (127th) finished the course in 20:49. Domanic Chenze recorded a personal best time of 23:02.
