Agnes Meta (Erdman) Wothe, age 95, of Frazee, MN, passed away peacefully, under the care of Red River Valley Hospice, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids with her family by her side.
Funeral service was held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial was made at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee. Agnes was born February 2, 1921, at Embden, ND, to Julius and Ernestine (Kriegel) Erdman.
Agnes was united in marriage to Melvin Wothe on December 21, 1943, at Detroit, Michigan. Agnes worked at the Detroit Diamond Factory from 1940 to 1944. Melvin and Agnes then made their home in Frazee, MN, where Agnes worked at the Frazee-Vergas School in the cafeteria for seven years. She then worked at Artic Cat in Detroit Lakes for 3 years and at the Frazee Care Center in the dietary department for many years.
She was an active member of the Heart of Lakes Post #7702 Ladies Auxiliary, Bunker Hill Sewing Club, Bethlehem Lutheran L.W.M.L., and The White Pine Senior Citizens Card Club. Agnes enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing scrabble with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and read entire story. . . .
Selvin Trosvig, 93, of rural Barnesville, died at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN on Sunday, October 09, 2016.
Funeral services was 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids, MN with Pastor Ethan Fearing officiating. Burial followed in North Immanuel Cemetery.
Visitation was held for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Selvin Ernest Trosvig was born on February 12, 1923 near Rothsay, MN to Oscar and Mabel (Sundahl) Trosvig. He grew up on the family farm and attended the old school house near North Immanuel Lutheran. During his lifetime, Selvin worked 30 years for the Great Northern Railroad, doing the heavy work of lying down railroad ties. He was married to Eleanor Gladys Gunderson on June 21, 1973 in Sisseton, SD. Selvin will be remembered for driving from town to town in his red pickup, stopping at all of the cafés or just on a dusty gravel road to talk to whoever would stop. He would often invite people to join him on a trip to the casino. For many years he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, traveling, and playing cards, especially whist. For the last five years, he has been a resident of the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN.
He has two nieces who survive him: Karen Howard and Cynthia Sipes. He was preceded in death by his wife; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Becky Marie Fjestad, 59, Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, Harwood, ND. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Doug Pixley, 51, Farmington, MN, formerly of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home in Farmington from kidney cancer.
Douglas Wade Pixley was born July 29, 1965 in Pelican Rapids to Dale and Darlene Pixley. He was baptized and confirmed at the First Congregational Church and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School.
Doug was an avid sportsman. His passion for the great outdoors was fueled by a close relationship with his Grandpa Les and his dad. Of all the outdoor activities that he enjoyed, hunting was his favorite, especially duck hunting. He also participated in duathalons and Crossfit training, loved riding his Harley, raced motorbikes, snowmobiles and ATVs, and also was a scuba diver.
Even in employment, Doug found a way to be outdoors. As a 20 year employee at TPC Landscape, Burnsville, MN, he supervised irrigation installation and repair during summer months and snow removal during winter.
As a father, Doug’s son Christopher and his daughter Mariah were fiercely loved. Although a man of few words, his children never questioned his love and devotion for them. He was a wonderful father, son, spouse, brother, uncle, and friend. read entire story. . . .
Janice Habedank, age 86, of Twin Valley, MN, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.
Janice Mignon Stenerson was born March 25, 1930, the daughter of Peter and Cora (Kjesbo) Stenerson at home on their farm in Traill County, ND, just across the Red River from Halstad, MN. Janice's father died when she was five and her mother continued to operate the farm with the help of her children, Janice’s uncles, and hired hands. That farm is still owned and operated by the Stenerson family today. Janice attended rural Herberg School near their farm for her first eight years of education. She then went to Halstad High School where she graduated with the class of 1947. As a young woman, she furthered her education at Interstate Business College in Fargo, later being employed at Builder’s Supply Company, Fargo, ND. It was there that she met Harold Habedank of Twin Valley and they were married September 8, 1956. The couple made their home on Harold’s family farm near Twin Valley. Shortly after, Harold was drafted into the Army and they eventually moved to Fort Sill, OK, until the spring of 1958. After Harold's discharge, they returned home to farm and raise their six children. In addition to raising their family, Janice was a proud farmwife willing to assist however she could on the farm. She was an active member of Wild Rice Lutheran Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, was involved in Circle, Ladies Aid, and WELCA. Phyllis Jeanette Moe of Mora, MN died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN after a brief illness. She was 80 years old.
She was born November 27, 1935 in Pennock, MN to Chester Hedman and Dorothy (Swanson) Hedman. Phyllis lived in Pennock as a child and graduated in 1953 from Willmar High School. She attended secretarial school after high school.
Phyllis married Elmer Moe on April 19, 1958 in Aberdeen, SD. Her uncle, the Reverend David Hadley, performed the ceremony. After briefly living in Willmar and Sunburg, they moved to Pine City and eventually settled in Mora in 1962.
Phyllis and Elmer had three children, Susan, Steven, and Scott. Phyllis stayed at home with the children while Elmer worked for the State of Minnesota. Once the children started school, Phyllis began working at Calvary Lutheran Church as the secretary, a job she held for over 25 years before retiring. She took great pride in making sure church bulletins were accurate and newsletters went out on time.
Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended sporting events, 4-H shows, choir and band concerts, piano recitals, skating shows, Sunday school programs and all other activities that her kids and grandkids participated in. Mary Carol Berndt, age 63, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, October 1, 2016, in Fergus Falls.
Mary was born on December 24, 1952, to Louis and Anne (Krueger) Berndt in Pelican Rapids, MN. She attended Pelican Rapids Elementary School and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School.
Mary worked for many years at Northern Contours in Fergus Falls. She enjoyed sewing, dogs, and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anne Berndt; and a brother, Roger Berndt.
Mary is survived by her children, Shaun Berndt, Heather Fingalson and Ryan Berndt; two grandchildren, Ivy and Alex Fingalson; her siblings, Richard Berndt, Darrell Berndt, and Debbie Torgerson; and her dogs, Coco and Mo.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service and one hour after the service at Olson Funeral Home.
Service: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel. Clergy: Pastor Jim Odden. Interment: Lakeview Cemetery in Pelican Rapids, MN.
